A small, simple and honest tavern that has been highly popular for many years in Paros. Right behind the beach of little Santa Maria, Ms. Maria Stamatiou has turned the yard of her old rural house into a tavern for twenty years now. It’s a family affair, as her son goes out with the fishing boat for the catch of the day and her daughters work with her in the kitchen.
The “Katsounas” (her grandfather’s nickname) serves few homemade cooked dishes, fish mezes, and fish.
The fresh fish is masterfully grilled; the string beans, the blites and the zucchini from their vegetable garden are exquisite; the goat kid and the hand-cut fried potatoes are delicious.
Mrs. Maria is famous for her fish soup and the spaghetti with lobster.
