Alpha Guide's evaluation
A pioneering international hotel project that adopted the logic of reuse, transforming the old city hotel, which was designed in 1958 by Iasonas Rizos, into a new generation design hotel. The internationally renowned designers Campana brothers (in partnership with 3SK Stylianidis Architects) led a three-year workshop, in cooperation with Greek architects and designers, who created new pieces of furniture and facilities based on old objects (of the hotel and beyond). The rooms are not very large, but space is used efficiently. They are bright, stylish and feature post-folk decorative items. Golden basins-sculptures and custom-made chairs in the balconies, some of which face the Russian church. Metropolitan chic atmosphere in the relatively limited common areas, with original works of art (as in the suites). The suite on the last floor, with 360 degree views and a wooden deck is the most impressive. Breakfast with emphasis on delicious pastries and premium coffees at “New Taste” cafe-resto with the signature woodwork of Campana, and brunch, lunch or dinner. The “New Art Lounge” at the top of the Hotel is a summer alternative.
