Set in a beautiful forest of plane trees, at an altitude of 600 m., just above the village and with its own trout farm, the taverna run by Yiorgos Theodorakelis and his family is for years now a classic haunt for good food for the people of Northern Greece. Stone and wood dominate the cozy three-room dining. In the summer the tables are laid under the huge plane trees. The must-eat dish is trout, either grilled or smoked in oak wood. The appetizers, such as pickled cabbage, grilled halloumi cheese, and eggplant salad, are all handmade.
