Alpha Guide's evaluation
A boutique hotel in the city center, member of Small Luxury Hotels of the World. The listed historic building in Art Deco and neoclassical style was taken over by the Tornivoukas family (active in the hotel business - see “Eagles Palace” in Chalkidiki, “City Hotel” in Thessaloniki) and turned it - with the help of architectural firm 3SK Stylianidis - into a contemporary style hotel that showcases its history. The twenty two standard rooms (not very large, but this is something one should expect in such buildings) and eight junior suites are decorated in minimalist style with artwork and impressive lighting. The technology makes its presence felt in small details, such as the notification system for cleaning the room, the special membranes on the double glazing, etc. The environmentally friendly operation is a plus. On the ground floor there are an all day cafe, a bar and an American diner. Spa services are provided by the sister “City Hotel” across the street.
