The 10 stone-built monastery dependencies that were constructed 300 years ago were transformed by Mrs. Aleka Halkias into a beautiful, alternative tourism complex, with a unique atmosphere, allowing those who choose it to spend their vacations in a beautiful natural scenery, away from modern technological facilities. Small paved paths lead to each house, which has its own little courtyard. Each house can accommodate 2-5 people, is built of natural stone, with traditional architectural elements of Eastern Crete, and features a kitchen and a fireplace. The beds are built-in and the traditional furniture and tapestries offer an authentic “Old Crete” experience. There is no TV. The rich traditional Cretan breakfast (optional) is served in the living room or under the trees. Painting workshops, yoga, tai chi, etc.
